Choose Satellite Internet Services For Reliable Web Browsing

One of the most reliable sources of internet service is satellite internet. This type of internet is not only reliable but it also provides you with one of the fastest connections available. There are several types of internet connections such as dial-up and DSL which has many drawbacks to using them. Dial-up has a slow response time when it comes to uploading and downloading information on the internet and it is unreliable because it is run through a telephone line. As with any above ground line, a telephone line can be cut, broken or damaged by weather rendering your internet useless.

DSL is a high speed telephone line internet connection. It is known as the digital subscriber line that allows data to be sent through a telephone line. This is a little bit different than a regular dial-up line. These are intended for data transfer only and they do not allow you to connect a telephone to it. You have some of the same problems with these lines as you do with dial-up lines except you can transfer data much faster through DSL. These are still less reliable for internet connections than satellite internet because the signal still comes through a telephone line, especially for remote rural areas where telephone lines run for many miles.

Satellite internet uses a satellite dish with a satellite modem to connect you to the internet. This means that instead of your signal coming through a series of long, above ground telephone and electric lines, they are sent via microwaves through the air to a gathering dish that gathers the signals and runs them through a single line going from the dish to your modem. With this type of system you don't have to worry about outages during inclement weather nor do you have to worry about static bumping you off line every time your phone rings.

When you get satellite internet service, a modem is included to connect to your computer. This modem is what regulates the signal that your satellite dish gathers. It is a much faster connection because there are no long lines for the information to have to travel through like there are with dial-up or DSL connections. With DSL and dial-up the longer the line that the information has to travel through, the slower the speed. This means that your information may have to run through hundreds of miles of line to get back to your computer.

Since satellite internet service comes through the air on microwaves, there is nothing to slow it down. The dish generally sits less than 50 ft from your computer so it is not slowed down by long lines. It also means you stay connected as long as you want to be without interruptions due to line traffic and static. As long as your computer is turned on, you will have an internet connection. There is no better way to get internet service in rural areas than with satellite internet service. Prices are reasonable in comparison to other forms of internet service and it can be installed within a couple of hours.
