Living in the Country Does Not Mean There is No Need For a Modem

Living in the country does not mean there is no need for a modem; most people think that a modem is only needed in the cities or suburbs where there are high-speed Internet services. They think of areas that are further out as being the dead zone for high-speed Internet and that is not true at all. If they did their research about Internet services they would find out that there is a high-speed Internet service that works as well in the city and suburbs as it does in the outlying areas where DSL or Cable Internet is not available. They also might find out they would like this service that has little down time, is professionally installed so there is no problems to figure out on the telephone with technical support. Instead there is satellite Internet that is professionally installed and has that high-speed connection that is always on waiting for the computer user to use the computer.

Yes, satellite Internet does use a modem even if you live in an area where there are no other high-speed services. The modem it uses is one that is made for use with the small satellite dish that is mounted outside and to the desktop computer or for wireless use with laptops that have wireless capabilities. It is a modem that is similar in looks, size and functions as the modem used for DSL or cable Internet, the difference is what it is connected too. It is not connected to a telephone line or to underground coaxial cable; instead it is connected by wires to the satellite dish mounted on the roof, chimney or pole outside that is sending and receiving data for Internet use.

The modem is an important part of high-speed Internet and without it the high-speed service would not be available in the country, suburbs or city. What this does is send the data signals that are needed to surf the Internet and without it most computers would just be over priced typewriters in most homes. No one wants this what they want is their modem connected to the satellite Internet dish when they live in the country so they have an Internet connection that is approximately twenty times faster than using a dial up connection. This is how some people that live in the city or suburbs and are uninformed about satellite Internet believe that the country computer user is forced to use slow speed dial up.

Because of satellite Internet the modem does belong in the country, along with the high-speed connection that is not only reserved for the city and the suburbs, as some computer users would have people believe. The country user is downloading software in minutes instead of hours, they are seeing the pictures sent in their email in seconds instead of waiting for them to load line by line with dial up service. Living in the country is not only good its great when you have a broadband connection, it means doing what you need to do on the Internet and still having time to spend out in the fresh air that is not laced with smog.
