The internet plays an important role in most people's life but the truth is that we are not getting the same speeds as other countries. Many customers complain about the service they get from their provider and expect faster connection speeds.

Many experts also say that if there was an improvement in broadband speeds and they were present in most homes in the UK, it would have a significant impact on the economy and let's face it, if something is going to help the economy we should be doing everything we can to push it through. A time period has been set of 3 to 5 years for the technologies to be implemented and for them to be in 80% of UK homes. The reason 3 to 5 years has been suggested is because if it is left longer there is a good chance that there will be a new type of technology that will allow faster speeds. The idea is to get the UK up to speed with the rest of Europe.
